2007-03-29 - TASCAM ANNOUNCES NEW PRICING AND SOFTWARE UPDATE FOR SX-1

TASCAM has lowered the manufacturer's suggested retail price of their SX-1 Digital Production Environment, enabling more musicians and composers to take advantage of its powerful features. Now available at $5,999.00 USD, the SX-1 is an ideal complete audio production solution for composers, recording studio production rooms, broadcast facilities, educational institutions and houses of worship. In other SX-1 news, the company has released new v1.10 operating software that provides new features including visible event names in the waveform display, new DSP power for lush-sounding reverbs and effects, new automation functions and interface improvements.

"There is no other product like the SX-1," states Jim Mack, TASCAM division manager. "Other integrated workstation recording and mixing tools don't have the high-end features and quality level that allow the SX-1 to be implemented in serious, professional applications. It offers a no-compromise solution for people who want to take advantage of the benefits of high-end DAW-style recording and editing in a dedicated, seamlessly integrated device. We're happy to be able to now offer this extremely innovative production tool to a wider range of people who may not have been able to afford this degree of quality at the former price point."

Combining automated digital mixing, hard disk recording, MIDI sequencing, extremely powerful editing, DSP effects technology and multi-format mastering capabilities, the SX-1 is the culmination of over two years of research and development between several of TASCAM's worldwide design teams.

The SX-1's v1.10 operating system update is sent automatically to all registered owners of the SX-1.

The unit combines automated digital mixing, hard disk recording, MIDI sequencing, extremely powerful editing, DSP effects and CD-burning capabilities in a single unit. The SX-1 is the culmination of over two years of joint development between TASCAM R&D in Iruma, Japan, the TASCAM Palo Alto Research Center (PARC) in Palo Alto, CA, and TimeLine Vista in San Marcos, CA and represents the state of the art in professional integrated audio production workstations.

Designed for surround production suites equipped with digital consoles, the TASCAM DS-M7.1 is a surround sound monitor control device that adds multi-speaker monitoring control to consoles with limited output busses.
